House Plans

Contemporary house plans

If you want to stir controversy and create something truly unique at the same time, you should consider contemporary house plans. Of course, many individuals just want something unique and the controversy comes as an undesired result. Others enjoy intentionally pushing the status quo. Either way, contemporary homes make a statement.

Some are drawn to contemporary house plans out of a desire to be different. They want to express themselves in new and different ways, and see architecture create elements and styles that haven't been seen before.

Others are drawn to contemporary house plans simply out of a desire for functionality and an attraction to the unique sense of beauty. High ceilings, metal railings, unconventional use of windows, glass blocks and frosted glass – all are elements that some may find unappealing but others will find breathtaking. In that sense, a contemporary home is a true expression of the individuality of its owner. Unless, of course, you live on street of contemporary homes that all have similar features – in which case a classic colonial might be the way to stand out!

While the controversy may still go on, few would deny that contemporary house plans are making their mark. The attitudes and personalities of a community are often reflected in their architecture, and contemporary communities that lean towards the avant garde will have a very different sense of place than older neighborhoods that give a feeling of coziness or classic charm. For better or worse, contemporary styles add to the diversity of the many home designs to choose from.
